Free Screening

Tuesday, June 18, 7:00 pm

Green Belt Community Center, 15 Crescent Rd., Greenbelt, MD 20770

Get Money Out-Maryland and the Prince George's Peace and Justice Coalition present a free screening of Kimberly Reed's real-life political thriller "Dark Money." Set against the backdrop of Montana politics, this Sundance Award-winning film exposes the alarming influence of untraceable corporate campaign contributions on the workings of state government.

Audience discussion will center on the urgent need for a constitutional amendment reversing the Supreme Court rulings in Citizens United vs. FEC and other cases that have gutted campaign finance regulation. The discussion will include a brief presentation on how legislation in the Maryland General Assembly can help to bring about that amendment.
